More Reports About iPhones Cracking Open Come Out

After our earlier report of 6 already disturbing cases of Apple’s iPhone-8 Plus batteries swelling and getting the phone split opened, we had been waiting and watching to confirm how true the news is. For now, though there is no official response from Apple, just that they are looking into the matter, there is a case spotted in the US.

A Best Buy employee on Reddit uploaded the images of bulging iPhone 8 on Thursday.

Now it seems a serious problem, one that will affect Apple’s reputation badly. Previous cases were reported from Taiwan, Japan, China, Canada, and Greece. The first incident was spotted in Taiwan when suddenly a lady informed that her iPhone 8 Plus split open while it was charging.

Apple has a huge reputation for its hardware which is arguably infallible in tits consumers’ view. If all pieces are affected by this disaster, returning or replacing the pieces will be only a slight damage compared to what Apple will go through as a loss of its market reputation.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus went on sale on September 22. Apple has not yet released any data of early sales of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, so we indeed do not have an exact report of how many phones are already out there in the market, how many are in stores and how many Apply keeps in his manufacturing units.

This is while pre-orders for Apple’s highest and most ambitious phone iPhone X will begin on October 27. This phone will be shipping by November 3 and is built on the same technology in terms of hardware. It has not encountered any complaint till the date but the issues in its sibling may affect its sale too.
